Trinity May Ball 2026 ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT
Trinity May Ball is committed to ensuring that all attendees can enjoy the event in a safe and accessible environment. Below, we outline the accessibility provisions available.
Our Presidents and Vice-Presidents are currently responsible for accessibility. Please get in touch with the Presidents of the 2026 Trinity May Ball, Ryan Tam and Pavit Kaur, to make any requests: president@trinityball.co.uk. Please rest assured that any enquiries made will be kept strictly confidential.
MOBILITY AND VENUE ACCESSIBILITY
-
The entire Ball is wheelchair-accessible.
-
Wheelchair ramps are installed where necessary, including from underneath the Cloisters to Scholar’s Lawn.
-
Where ramps are not installed adjacent to stairs, a wheelchair lift is available, including from Nevile’s Court to the Great Hall.
-
The wheelchair evacuation plan follows the same exit route as all other attendees to ensure a safe and efficient evacuation without encountering stairs.
-
Any attendee with accessibility requirements that necessitate leaving and re-entering the Ball must be escorted by a student worker. This request should be made in writing to president@trinityball.co.uk at the time of ticket purchase. Medical evidence or a University Student Support Document (SSD) is required for approval. Any medical evidence or SSDs forwarded to the Committee will be kept strictly confidential and will not be stored or shared by the Committee.
-
Students with a disability living within the premises of the Ball may stay in their College room during the College lockdown at 17:00, but must inform the Committee via email (president@trinityball.co.uk) at least a week in advance of the event. If they also hold a valid ticket to the Ball, they must leave their room in Trinity by 19:00 to join the queue.
TICKETING AND CARER POLICY
-
Any attendee who, by reasonable assessment, requires an accompanying carer to attend the Ball is entitled to one complimentary ticket for a designated carer. The carer must sign an agreement to remain with and take responsibility for the attendee throughout the event. This request should be made in writing to president@trinityball.co.uk at the time of ticket purchase. Medical evidence or University SSD documentation is required for approval. The final decision to issue such a ticket lies solely with the Trinity May Ball Committee.
-
Attendees unable to stand for prolonged periods may request a queue jump pass for themselves and one companion. This request should be made in writing to ticketing@trinityball.co.uk at the time of ticket purchase. Medical evidence or University SSD documentation is required for approval.
TOILETS AND FACILITIES
-
An accessible toilet, equipped with a sharps bin, is located in the eastern corner of Nevile’s Court. This toilet is also gender-neutral.
